April 24, 2011

When I first started my Sunday project I was looking forward to Easter Sunday. Just as any holiday families gather and because it happens in spring there is always vibrant colors around.  For some reason my Easter wasn't as colorful as I thought it was. Instead it was just very relaxing, also a good thing to do on the holidays.  Since last week I spent Easter with my Mom and Step Dads side to the family, this week I spent the real Easter with my Boyfriend's family and my Dad's side to the family.

When I first arrived to my Boyfriend's house he was cooking up a storm. He is a trained chef so his Mom stepped aside and let him to be the head chef for easter, while she helped being the su chef.

They made leg of lamb for the dinner. The picture above is the mirepoix, which is the onions, carrots and celery with water and oil in the bottom of the pan of the meat. The second picture is a close up of the leg of lamb with some rosemary and salt on top. He also cooked some rabbit for the meal, so of course there were jokes being made all day how we ate the easter bunny. Not everyone in his family was open to eating it, but they sure missed out because it was delicious.

My Boyfriend's family are huge baseball fans, so the watched the game as the meal was being cooked.

Of course the Easter bunny left all of my Boyfriend's siblings a gift bag.
