Last sunday I asked a friend if I could join her family in their typical Sunday dinner. They welcomed me with open arms stating there only rule was that I eat with them. How could I pass an offer like that? I told them my only rule was to pretend I wasn't there. So I went capturing the true essence of the moment. The mother, Jan, told me every sunday they prepare a meal whether just the girls show up or all the extended family comes. To them its a gathering of the family and a time to relax and enjoy a nice home cooked meal. In the week they all have their own diets they go by, and sunday dinner is the time to dive back into the comfort foods. There was no shortage of wine, food, laughter, talk, smiles and of course photographs.
This week I'm trying something new. I made a slide show of my favorite photos of the Sunday dinner. There were just too many to post singularly in this one series. Only some of them will be apart of my larger series Sundays. Perhaps one day I'll make a feature length film with just my photographs of all the sunday activities I document. Cheers!
